Army Rice

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 2 lbs lamb sausage
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch celery, chopped
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 packages dry chicken noodle soup mix
  • 9 cups boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375f degrees.
  • 2 in a dutch oven, over medium-high heat, add sausage, onions, pepper and celery.
  • 3 when sausage is browned, stir in rice and almonds.
  • 4 in a separate bowl, combine dry soup mix with boiling water; stir well.
  • 5 stir soup mixture into dutch oven and combine.
  • 6 cover casserole and bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 50 minutes.
  • 7 serves a lot!
