Buffalo Chilli

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground buffalo meat
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 (10 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 cup low-sodium v8 juice
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans baked beans (in tomato sauce)
  • 1 (28 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seeds

Recipe

  • 1 in a dutch oven, brown ground bison on med-high.
  • 2 add 3 cloves of garlic, 2 tbsp of chilli powder onion, and green pepper. cook for about 4 minutes.
  • 3 add tomato soup, canned tomatoes and v8. allow to return to a simmer.
  • 4 add rinsed kedney beans, and both cans of baked beans.
  • 5 simmer for at least 15 minutes, or add to a slow cooker, and cook as long as you like.
  • 6 add ground flax, remaining chilli powder, and garlic just before serving.
