Cheese Strata

Ingredients

- 8 slices bread
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of asparagus soup
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 350°f.
- 2 lightly grease a 9x9 baking dish.
- 3 remove the crusts from bread and cut 4 of the slices into quarters.
- 4 place the quartered bread on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- 5 pour the melted butter over the bread.
- 6 sprinkle the cheese over the bread slices.
- 7 crumble the remaining bread over the cheese layer.
- 8 in a mixing bowl, combine the cream of asparagus soup, milk, eggs, salt and dry mustard; pour over the crumbled bread.
- 9 cover and refrigerate over night or at least 2 hours.
- 10 bake uncovered for 1 hour.
