Buttermilk Baked Chicken

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 dash garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk, divided
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
Recipe
- 1 melt butter in a 13x9 inch baking dish in a 425 oven.
- 2 sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 3 dip chicken in ½ cup buttermilk and dredge in flour.
- 4 arrange chicken in baking dish.
- 5 bake at 425 for 25 minutes.
- 6 turn chicken and bake 10 more minutes.
- 7 stir together remaining 1 cup buttermilk and cream of mushroom soup; pour over chicken and cover with foil to prevent excessive browning.
- 8 drizzle gravy over chicken.
- 9 bake another ten minutes.
