Broccolie Cheese Soup

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups water, reserved from cooked broccoli
  • 1 lb cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 lb velveeta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook broccoli in water until tender. drain and reserve the liquid.
  • 2 melt butter in a large soup pot. add flour, stirring constantly to make a roux. add onions and saute until tender. add liquids, stirring constantly to prevent lumping. add cheeses, broccoli, worcestershire, salt and pepper. contiue cooking until cheeses are melted.
  • 3 add more water or milk if the soup is too thick.
