Bills Chile

Total Time: 4 hrs 25 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef round steak, cubed..or sub ground chuck
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large spanish onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, any color
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 5 garlic cloves, sliced thin
  • 5 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper
  • 4 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans
  • 5 (14 ounce) cans mexican-style tomatoes
  • 1 cup red wine or 1 fairly strong beer
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch or 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon flour or 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Recipe

  • 1 chop onion and cook in olive oil about 5-7 minute add meat and add peppers and garlic and cook for 3-4 more minute add the dry spices and cook and stir for 2-4 minute add beans stewtd tomatoes and wine and bring to a boil.for a few minutes cover and simmer for 4 to 6 plus hours.salt to taste. you can thicken it with the flour if needed.
