Chicken And Mushroom Tart

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 250 g puff pastry
  • 1 small egg, beaten
  • 50 g butter
  • 225 g mixed mushrooms
  • 350 g cooked chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 150 ml condensed mushroom soup
  • 150 ml dry wine
  • 3 tablespoons chopped chives or 3 tablespoons spring onions, green tops

Recipe

  • 1 roll out the pastry on a floured surface to make an oblong.
  • 2 neaten the edges, brush with egg and fold in the edges (trim the corner) and score.
  • 3 bake for 25-30 minutes at 200c/400°f the centre will rise, but will flatten when filling is added.
  • 4 meanwhile melt the butter and fry the mushrooms until soft.
  • 5 stir in the chicken, the soup, the wine and most of the chives.
  • 6 season, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes until hteated through.
  • 7 pile into the pastry case, sprinkle with the remaining chives and serve.
